Auckland, New Zealand – Bluwave Galumoana Ltd has unveiled BluNet, a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) aimed at delivering high-speed, reliable, and affordable broadband services across New Zealand. BluNet is committed to providing seamless connectivity for both residential and business customers, supporting diverse needs from streaming and gaming to remote work and online learning. With its focus on high-quality service and customer care, BluNet is set to become a significant player in the New Zealand ISP market.
A Strategic Build-Up Four Years in the Making
The launch of BluNet represents the culmination of four years of meticulous planning and development by Bluwave Galumoana Ltd. Under the strategic direction of both Fuimaono Martin Anae & Emani Lui, the yet to be registered company embarked on this journey in September 2020, keeping many aspects of the project under wraps until they were fully prepared to enter the market.
The strategic build-up involved identifying and securing viable partners and suppliers to ensure BluNet would be able to provide top-quality service right from the start.
"We have been in partnership for quite some time now with Makanet, and we've been trialing different products and services," Fuimaono stated. The partnership with Makanet was integral to testing and refining the technology and infrastructure needed for BluNet. The company even used its own office as a testing station to trial different setups, ensuring everything worked seamlessly before revealing the full scope of BluNet’s offerings.
Keeping Plans Under Wraps for a Strategic Launch
Fuimaono's approach was to keep the details of BluNet’s development discreet, revealing information only when necessary and when the team felt confident about the readiness of their services. "I’ve traveled to Hong Kong twice to meet and talk with our suppliers, from Apple and Oppo" Fuimaono shared, highlighting the extensive international collaboration that took place behind the scenes. These strategic discussions were key to securing the best technology and infrastructure for BluNet’s launch. The readiness to reveal BluNet to the public came only after thorough testing and confidence that they could deliver on their part.
“This year, we felt we were ready,” Fuimaono added, emphasising that patience and careful planning were critical to ensuring a successful entry into the competitive ISP market.
"We knew that once we launch this new platform we had to be sure, dot the i and cross the t" he said.
BluNet’s Mission: Delivering Fast, Reliable, and Affordable Internet
BluNet aims to fill a critical gap in New Zealand’s ISP market by offering high-speed broadband that is not only reliable but also affordable. Recognising the growing demand for quality internet connectivity, BluNet is designed to cater to the evolving needs of both home users and businesses. Whether it’s for entertainment, remote work, or online education, BluNet’s mission is to provide an internet service that New Zealanders can depend on.
"Experience the internet at its best—fast, dependable, and always there when you need it," is the core promise BluNet makes to its customers. With a focus on service quality and customer care, BluNet is positioned to become a trusted name in New Zealand’s internet service sector.
Expanding Bluwave Galumoana Ltd's Digital Solutions
The launch of BluNet adds a new dimension to Bluwave Galumoana Ltd’s already robust portfolio of digital solutions. Known for offering a variety of digital services tailored to businesses, particularly those focusing on Pacific content, Bluwave Galumoana Ltd specializes in photography, live streaming, videography, graphic design, and web development. The addition of BluNet enables the company to further support businesses and individuals by providing high-quality internet services—an essential component in today's digital age.
"We understand that technology evolves daily. What's popular today could be obsolete by tomorrow afternoon. For Bluwave to stay ahead in the digital space, we have to always be four steps ahead—whether it's in our production services, online website and apps, or media arm," said Fuimaono. He emphasised that change is constant, noting that traditional TV stations are cutting staff and shutting down as audiences shift their attention to online platforms like podcasts for news and entertainment. "Currently, our media arm, BluTV, has the highest number of viewers and audience engagement. We are working on a product that ensures our services continue even if platforms like Facebook Live and YouTube Live decide to end live streaming."
Fuimaono pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic has taught them never to get comfortable with the status quo. "We need to always be few steps ahead," he added, reinforcing the company’s commitment to anticipating future trends and adapting to stay relevant in an ever-changing digital landscape.
A Vision for the Future of Connectivity in New Zealand
Looking ahead, BluNet aims to set a new standard for internet service in New Zealand, ensuring that every user stays connected with what matters most. With a strong foundation built on strategic partnerships, rigorous testing, and a clear mission, BluNet is poised to take on the challenges of the ISP market and become a leading provider in New Zealand.
