Samoa's Police Weekly Press Conference silence raises eyebrows!

Nah Folasa

For almost five months, Samoa Police has remained silent, refusing to hold customary press conferences to address pressing issues affecting the community. This lack of transparency has left residents anxious and uninformed.

The public urgently demands answers to numerous incidents, including the:

❗️unsolved hit-and-run case in 2021,

❗️the mysterious Kite Runner boat investigation,

❗️and the alarming incident involving an unknown individual firing a gun from a car in Sinamoga.

Furthermore, with the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in October, concerns regarding public safety have escalated.

Community members have expressed their frustration, questioning the rationale behind Samoa Police's decision to cease media briefings. Residents feel left in the dark, unable to receive vital information that directly impacts their safety and well-being.

The absence of communication from the police force has led to widespread skepticism and speculation, further fueling the community's unease.

The public rightfully deserves to be kept informed about matters that affect their daily lives and to hold authorities accountable for their actions.

Samoa Police's continued silence undermines its transparency and accountability to the people it serves.

The community urges the police force to resume press conferences immediately and restore trust through open and honest dialogue.
