(GOVT. PRESS SECRETARIAT) - Tavu’i Mike Lemisio has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Samoa Post Limited, following approval from the Cabinet. His appointment, effective for a three-year term, was confirmed during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, 12 June 2024. Tavu’i was selected from a pool of three applicants vying for the executive role.
A graduate of the National University of Samoa, Tavu’i holds a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Management. He is currently furthering his education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of the South Pacific's Alafua Campus.
Tavu’i’s career is marked by a broad spectrum of experience in the private sector. He has held significant roles as a corporate manager and accountant, with notable positions at the Samoa Rugby Union and the Pacific Forum Line. His extensive background in these areas has equipped him with the skills necessary to lead Samoa Post Limited into its next phase of development.
In addition to his corporate experience, Tavu’i is deeply involved in sports management, serving as the Director of Marist Boxing. This role underscores his leadership capabilities and his commitment to community development.
Tavu’i succeeds Tupai Tupe Ualolo, who decided not to seek reappointment after an impressive 16-year tenure as CEO, starting from 2008. Under Tupai's leadership, Samoa Post Limited experienced significant growth and transformation, setting a strong foundation for Tavu’i to build upon.
As the new CEO, Tavu’i aims to leverage his diverse experience and educational background to drive further progress and innovation within Samoa Post Limited. His appointment is seen as a positive step towards enhancing the organisation's efficiency and expanding its services.
