It looks like there is an exciting shift happening at Moana Pasifika. Ardie Savea's decision to join the team is expected to raise the level of play for the 2025 Moana Squad. With Savea's signing, there's speculation that more talent will be brought into the squad, with rumours of Vaea Fifita potentially joining next. In addition, Moana Pasifika has secured a major sponsorship from the Pasifika Medical Association Group (PMAG).
Debbie Sorensen, the CEO of PMAG, expressed her optimism about the partnership, emphasising the mutual benefits that both parties stand to gain. PMAG is recognised for its valuable contributions to Pacific regional health and communities through its ownership of Pasifika Medical Association Membership, Pasifika Futures Ltd, and Etu Pasifika Ltd.
Since its inception in 2020, Moana Pasifika has shown improvement, finishing 11th in the Super Rugby Pacific ladder and winning 4 out of 14 games in the current season. With Ardie Savea joining the team, expectations are high for an even stronger performance in the future.
Moana Pasifika has faced financial challenges this year and struggled to find a permanent home stadium. However, the new major sponsor's interest in managing its events and communications offers a promising opportunity for a positive change.
