SCOPA NZ elects Leaupepe Talai Jr Lene as new President

Leaupepe Tala'i Jr Lene is the new President of the Samoa College Old Pupils Association (SCOPA) in New Zealand.

SCOPA NZ held its annual general meeting last Saturday in Auckland and elected its new President.

Leaupepe is no stranger in the SCOPA family, as many may remember him from his glory college days as an all-rounder on the sports field and the classroom. He is currently the Digicel Head of Diaspora and is heavily involved with the Samoa and Pacific community in New Zealand.

Speaking to the new SCOPA President about what we can expect in his first term, he stated that he wants to strengthen the relationship and engagement within the NZ community and to create more opportunities for Samoa College students by way of technology assets or

scholarships for students to further their studies after Samoa College.

The first big project he will be working on in the coming months is the Samoa College 70th Anniversary, tentatively planned for December 2023, "I have a very strong executive team as well as guidance from the senior council and passionate SCOPA members to help me and of course the blessings and guidance from our Heavenly Father to take us through our journey."
